Sophie Lavaud, Lady 8000, Himalayist and speaker

YOU’VE PROBABLY RARELY BEEN TOLD THAT FOLLOWING IS THE WAY TO GET TO THE TOP! BUT THIS IS MY BELIEF.”
My story
The first French national, the first Swiss woman, and the first Canadian national to summit all fourteen peaks over 8,000 meters worldwide, I am a Himalayan mountaineer driven by passion rather than performance.Coming from the business world, I chose the path of high-altitude mountaineering. Since then, the Himalayas have become my life—and sharing these experiences lies at the very heart of my journey.

OPENINGUP NEW HORIZONS, INSPIRING PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

To date, I have given over 200 conferences internationally, in French and English, for major companies in many sectors.

As a passionate mountaineer and a committed speaker, I believe in the power of “followership” and team spirit. I talk about how these approaches and other lessons of mountaineering can be applied in everyday life and in business.

Experience the summits differently

Through films and books, and always driven by the same desire: to share what cannot be seen at 8,000 meters. These stories reveal what happens behind the scenes—the faces, the choices, the unseen moments. They show what images don’t always capture: effort, doubt, resilience, and raw beauty.
