In 2007, my first ascents of Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua made me want to go even higher. Over the years, this path led me to the completion of the 14 summits of more than 8,000 m. In 2024, I wanted to connect these beginnings to my “Himalayan Grand Slam” with a new challenge: “The 7 poles of the world”, to continue the quest for the highest points of the 7 continents.

“The idea of the seven poles of the world, which corresponds to the seven continents, is to go and discover these new mountain areas with sometimes a small side step, not necessarily the highest point. That's why I call this project Sophie's seven summits. This allows me more leeway in choosing destinations.”

The solidarity project: RECCO® — “BE SEARCHABLE”

Raise awareness and train sherpas and high-altitude porters about the risks of avalanches.
Since 2017 as a RECCO ambassador, with Sangay we have been organizing training courses in the Himalayas and beyond. RECCO technology makes it possible to be located in the event of an avalanche or loss in nature.
