Movies & books
Each movie and each book is a step in my journey. In it, I tell you what you can't always see 8,000 meters away: the backstage, the faces, the choices. Through these stories, I seek to convey the intensity of expeditions, but also the human lessons that I believe can inspire far beyond the mountains.

Sophie Lavaud - The Final Summit
Co-production Nilaya Production and Caravan Prod - Directed by François Damilano.
"This story of the rise of Nanga Parbat is interspersed with returns to the heroine's Himalayan past. With great skill, the editing of the film thus slides by
association of ideas or events from one mountain to another without ever letting go of this fourteenth and last 8,000-meter peak climbed by Sophie Lavaud. Following in the footsteps of Dawa Sangay Sherpa, the impressive and masterful Nepali guide, his western partner shows pugnacity and strategic finesse to reach the summit. At the end of 22 expeditions conducted since 2012, the obsessive objective of 14 x 8000 has finally been reached. For Sophie the obstacle course ends with a tough victory and the honor of being the first on the podium of her three nationalities (France, Switzerland, Canada)."

90 min, directed by Lisa Röösli RTS - "Passe-moi les jumelles"
Nothing seemed to predestine Sophie Lavaud for mountaineering. Except perhaps an iron will and a certain ability to endure pain... And yet, achieving her dream would make her the fifth woman in the world — and the first Swiss woman — to accomplish it: climbing all fourteen of the world’s peaks over 8,000 metres. An incredible undertaking, an extraordinary challenge that Sophie is well on her way to completing, with more than ten successful summits already behind her. But ahead of her, despite two previous attempts, still stands an 8,167-metre giant: Dhaulagiri...
