Glacier Biodiversity Challenge

Peru, Nepal, Kenya, Kenya, Switzerland, Switzerland, Canada, Antarctica
“An original project including a coordinated series of six high-altitude expeditions across six continents, in order to establish the first complete environmental DNA (eDNA) reference base for the biodiversity surrounding six iconic glaciers.”

Exploring 6 glaciers

So I'm not going to be a scientist or a glaciologist, of course. But the idea of this project is obviously to keep my mountaineer cap and to go very high to get ice samples at the destinations of my next expeditions. A first test was carried out in Peru, a second on Annapurna IV, and we will continue this collection in 2026 to contribute to research on glacier biodiversity.

Each expedition requires months of preparation, logistics, and coordination. Nothing is done alone: the support of sponsors allows these projects to come to life and to always go a step further. Do you want to take part in the next ascent? Join the people who make the adventure possible!
