Arriving at the summit of Mentok II very early, I quickly realized that Sangay and Dorjee had something else in mind: why head back down when you can keep the adventure going? Crossing the entire range, from Mentok II to Mentok III and on to Mentok I at 6,300m… It was too tempting! So, naturally, we said yes 😊. Three Mentoks, a long ridge traverse over mixed terrain, followed by a descent that proved far more grueling than expected in the afternoon heat, through snow that had already turned to slush, before tackling an unstable moraine that seemed to go on forever… But in the end, that incomparable feeling: we did it!
