Sophie Lavaud “An ascent never happens alone”

Climbing the world's highest peaks wasn't on her childhood dream list. Born in Lausanne, raised between Switzerland and the Chamonix Valley, Sophie Lavaud discovered the mountains by skiing, almost by chance. Today, she is the first Swiss woman, and the first French-speaking person, to have climbed the 14 peaks of more than 8,000 meters.

Experience the summits differently

Movies, books and always the same desire: to share what you can't see 8,000 meters away. These stories show behind the scenes, the faces, the choices. They show what an image does not always say: effort, doubt, resilience, raw beauty.
