Sophie Lavaud: “In hypoxia, if the decisions were good, there is clearly a chance factor”
The mountaineer Sophie Lavaud became a legend by successfully climbing 14 peaks of more than 8000m. She recounts this feat on video through the prism of “limits”. By reaching the summit of Nanga Parbat (8,126 m) on June 26, 2023, Sophie Lavaud managed to complete her incredible journey of the 14 peaks of 8,000 m. Although she is neither a professional mountaineer nor a performance climber, it took her 11 years and 23 expeditions to the highest mountains of the Himalayas (Nepal, Tibet, Pakistan) to achieve her goals.
